Blackbox Healthcare Solutions is a national, clinician-led healthcare operations firm that designs, builds, fixes, and runs hospital transfer centers, command centers, and patient flow operations. An assessment is often where we start. We look at how patients actually move through your system and give you a clear, prioritized plan.
It's for health system leaders who need an honest outside read: transfer delays, fragmented acceptance, inconsistent physician workflows, bed placement friction, or a command center that isn't delivering what it promised.
On-site observation and stakeholder interviews, plus a review of your workflows and data. You get a current-state assessment, prioritized findings, and a practical 30-60-90 roadmap. We listen first, check what we hear against the data, and then design the solution.
If the roadmap calls for new operations, we design and stand them up: workflows, staffing model, governance, and a KPI framework, on your existing technology.
If the center exists but underperforms, we fix what isn't working and tune it until it performs.
If you need capacity while your team ramps up, we can run the operation for you, or alongside your team, until it runs on its own.
Before Blackbox, our clinicians helped build and run Banner Health's transfer and command center programs and led the build and launch of RWJBarnabas Health's transfer center. Co-founder Charley Larsen, RN, MSN-L, MBA, led Banner Health's transfer center operations.
Ardent Health is one of the health systems Blackbox works with.

No. We don't sell software. We work with the technology you already have and focus on the workflows, staffing, and governance that make it perform.
Yes. Many assessments are of operations that exist but aren't performing as expected. We look at the whole picture, including people, workflows, data, and governance, not just the tools.
It's your call. Some teams take the roadmap and run with it. Others ask us to help build, optimize, or operate what the roadmap recommends.
Most of our work uses operational and de-identified data. If an engagement ever requires access to protected health information, we put a Business Associate Agreement in place first.
